About
Message from the Chairman

When I first walked into the tobacco fields more than fifty years ago, I had little more than a fair scale and my word. Those two things — a fair scale, and a word kept — are still the foundation of Durga Enterprises today.
Over five decades, we have grown alongside the farmers who trust us with their harvest and the buyers who trust us with their supply. Three generations of my family have now worked in this trade, and the standard has not changed: pay the farmer fairly, grade the leaf honestly, deliver what was promised.
I am grateful to every farmer, every employee, and every partner — including ITC, VST and Wazir — who has walked this road with us. The next fifty years belong to the next generation, and I am confident the name Durga will continue to mean the same thing it has always meant.
— Subbarao Thota

About us
A legacy, a trust and a promise
A name farmers and buyers have trusted for three generations.
Durga Enterprises was founded over fifty years ago by Subbarao — known across the tobacco belt simply as Durga Subbarao. What began as one man walking from village to village to meet farmers has grown into one of the region's most dependable leaf-procurement houses.
Today the business carries his name and his standard: pay the farmer fairly, grade the leaf honestly, and deliver to the buyer exactly what was promised. It is the reason ITC has bought from us, season after season, for decades.
